About Dr. N. Anand Vijai

He is a Clinical Lead in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery at GEM Hospital trained by world-renowned Dr. C Palanivelu and is actively executing his clinical practice as a Hepato Pancreatic Biliary(HPB) and Liver Transplant Surgeon. He is currently an Executive member of the Liver Transplant Society of India (LTSI) He was an active team member of the first Laparoscopic living donor Liver Transplant Surgery in India. His team regularly performs laparoscopic and robotic donor liver transplant surgeries.

His areas of interest also include all aspects of Laparoscopic and Robotic surgeries for Liver, Pancreatic and Biliary cancers. He has published various articles on the management of benign HPB disorders like

  • Biliary strictures
  • Pancreatitis
  • Hydatid cyst
  • Portal hypertension
  • Benign liver tumors
  • Splenic diseases

Dr.Anand is actively involved in many scientific and medical societies including the International Laparoscopic Liver Society(ILLS), AMASI, American College of Surgeons, and ASI. He has a great interest in teaching basic Laparoscopic surgeries like Gall Bladder, Hernia, and Appendectomy for young surgeons. His ongoing researches are Artificial liver support for liver failure and pancreatic transplants.
