Dr. V. Vanmathy is a senior anaesthesiologist, intensivist and pain medicine specialist with over 16 years of experience in anaesthesia and perioperative care, along with more than 13 years of experience in pain management. She has extensive expertise in anaesthetic management for complex abdominal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, thoracic, orthopaedic, oncological, robotic, gynaecological and obstetric surgeries. Her clinical expertise includes managing geriatric, paediatric and super-morbidly obese patients, difficult airway management, fibreoptic bronchoscopy-guided intubation and perioperative care for organ transplant patients.
Dr. Vanmathy has completed specialised fellowship training in interventional pain management and provides comprehensive care for chronic pain, cancer pain, spine and disc disorders, joint pain and musculoskeletal conditions. She performs image-guided, minimally invasive pain and spine interventions for conditions such as back pain, disc herniation, sciatica, neck and shoulder pain, knee arthritis and nerve-related pain. She also has experience in ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal interventions, sports injury management and regenerative medicine. She is the Founder Director and Senior Consultant Pain Physician at Synapse Pain and Spine Clinic, Besant Nagar, Chennai and is involved in clinical leadership, medical training, team development and patient safety initiatives.
