Dr. Rajiv Maharaj

Dr. Rajiv Maharaj is an experienced surgeon specializing in minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, Hepato Pancreato Biliary (HPB) surgery and liver transplantation. He received advanced laparoscopic surgery training under Prof. Dr. C. Palanivelu through a Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery and completed his super-specialty training in Surgical Gastroenterology in Hyderabad. He also received training in liver transplantation under Prof. Dr. Mohamed Rela.

With over 15 years of surgical experience, Dr. Rajiv Maharaj has contributed to medical research through publications and presentations at national and international conferences. He received the Best Video Award at AMASICON 2014 in Dubai for his contribution to surgical innovation. His clinical expertise includes laparoscopy, endoscopy and liver and pancreatic surgery.

In addition to his clinical and academic pursuits, he has a strong interest in basketball and represented Tamil Nadu at the junior level. He is also interested in filmmaking and remains connected with the sporting community in Coimbatore.
